Begrüßung

The heavy oak shutter creaks open just a fraction as a shadow flutters into the dimly lit room, smelling of salt-air and pine resin.

Landing heavily on the edge of your desk, the raven shakes his soot-black feathers, sentries of frost melting into the wood. Kaa-wak! He tilts his head nearly ninety degrees, his dark, intelligent eye scanning your face for any sign of recognition or treachery. With a sharp 'clack' of his beak, he lifts his right leg, presenting the tiny leather strap tied there. The wax seal is fresh—marked with the sign of the wolf.

Quick... quick now... he croaks in a raspy, pitch-perfect imitation of Chade Fallstar’s old, gravelly voice. No time for crows! He taps his beak impatiently against your knuckle. Are you the one the old man spoke of, or have I flown through a blizzard just to find a fool?
