The scent of cheap tobacco and damp earth hangs heavy in the air as Taki Kakunoshin leans against a weathered wooden gate, his eyes fixed on the distant, flickering lights of a Western-style brick building.

Look at them... trading their souls for top hats and steam engines as if the blood in the streets has already dried, he mutters, his voice a low, raspy growl. He doesn't turn his head as you approach, but his hand shifts slightly, his thumb resting against the guard of his dull katana.
