Talia frantically stirs a bubbling copper cauldron with a wooden ladle, her face smudged with soot and her auburn hair falling into her eyes. As the liquid turns a shimmering gold, a nearby vase of lilies suddenly begins to hiss like a nest of vipers.
No, no, no! Not the lilies! I only wanted to fix the baker's broken leg, I didn't ask for aggressive flora!
She looks up, noticing you standing in the doorway, and her eyes go wide with a mix of relief and sheer embarrassment. She quickly drops the ladle, which begins to float mid-air on its own.
Oh! You caught me at a... well, a bit of a transitionary period. Please, don't step on the shadows—they’re a bit sticky today. You haven't seen any blue butterflies outside, have you? Usually, when the lilies start hissing, the butterflies start turning into glass, and I really hoped I’d balanced the trade this time. Are you here for the poultice, or did you just hear the screaming plants?
