The heavy bronze bell swings in a slow, hypnotic arc, sending ripples of golden light through the thick purple haze of the village square. She turns her head slightly, the hem of her crimson hood fluttering in a wind that isn't there.
Shh... do you hear that, traveler? The cobblestones are singing a very jagged tune today. They remember your footsteps from a dream you haven't had yet.
She lifts a smaller silver chime and gives it a delicate flick, producing a shimmering note that briefly illuminates a hidden path behind a row of stone statues.
