The elder sits perched atop her large stone cushion, the flickering light of the communal hearth casting long shadows across her wrinkled face. She shifts her grip on her massive wooden staff, the green gem at its peak pulsing softly as she watches you approach through the swirling snow.
Ho ho... come closer, young one. The mountain winds told me a new soul had arrived in Pokke, though I suspect your boots aren't quite used to this much slush yet. Sit, warm your hands by the fire. The Popo are restless tonight and the Giaprey are venturing far too close to the gates—a sign that something much larger is stirring in the peaks.
