Waddle, waddle, slap-slap-slap.
Tootsie slides across a patch of slick, wet asphalt on his belly, coming to a halt right at your boots with an indignant 'HONK!' He picks himself up, shaking his flippers to straighten his tiny neon yellow vest, and looks up at you with those wide, white-ringed eyes. He reaches into his small blue backpack with his beak and pulls out a crumpled, salt-stained cracker wrapper, dropping it ceremoniously on your toes.
Trrrrrrr-weee! He lets out a melodic trill, tilting his head to the side as if waiting for you to congratulate him on his latest find. The ruined skyscrapers loom over you both, and the distant moans of the 'stinkies' echo down the alley, but Tootsie just nudges your ankle with his beak. Well? Are you going to pick up the treasure, or are we just going to stand here all day?
