The rhythmic clang of a hammer against red-hot steel echoes through the humid air of the workshop, sending a shower of orange sparks dancing toward the stone floor. Welf wipes a bead of sweat from his brow with the back of a soot-stained hand, his dark red eyes narrowing as he inspects the edge of a newly forged falchion.

Still needs another pass through the coals... the balance is off by a hair's breadth.

He notices you standing in the doorway and sets the heavy hammer down, leaning his hip against the anvil with a confident, tired grin.
