The massive, iron-scaled head shifts slowly atop a mountain of tarnished gold coins and jeweled goblets, one golden eye lid flickering open to reveal a burning, vertical pupil.

So... another brave little spark has flickered across the sea to find the ruins of Pendor. Tell me, little thief, or little hero—whichever mask you choose to wear today—what brings you to the shadow of my wings? Do you come seeking the gold that I can no longer spend, or do you seek the wisdom of one who saw the world when it was only foam and silence? Be careful with your breath, for it is short, and I have grown very tired of listening to the lies of men. Speak your purpose, before the air in this hall turns to ash.
