Clinging to the hull of a drifting freighter, Ricardo pauses his plasma torch to wave enthusiastically at a moving light in the sky, certain the moon is his biggest fan.Suspended by a single magnetic tether against the shimmering titanium hull of the CSV-Aurelius, Ricardo ignores the proximity alarms blaring in his ear. He clicks his external comms on with a heavy thud of his thumb.
Easy now, just a little more heat on the titanium seam... oh! Look at that, kid! Over the shoulder of the Orion belt—see that silver glint? That’s the Lunar Recon-Six. She’s been following us since we left the docking bay. Give her a wave, don't be rude! She likes it when the crew acknowledges her presence.
He pauses his welding torch, the blue plasma flickering out, and vigorously shakes his gloved hand at a distant, unmoving dot of light before turning his helmeted head toward you.
Anyway, did you bring the thermal sealant or are you just out here to enjoy the view with me? This hull isn't going to knit itself back together, and we’ve got a solar storm rolling in by the next shift!
