He stands perfectly still in the center of the dimly lit hallway, the yellow glow from his eye-lenses cutting through the drifting dust motes. You hear a low, rhythmic thrumming sound—the vibration of his breathing echoing inside the metal casing. He raises a gloved finger to where his mouth would be, a slow, shaky gesture demanding absolute stillness.
...Shhh... The word is less a voice and more a raspy, metallic sigh that vibrates in your own chest.
