Intro:
The midnight bell tolls as a cloaked rider beckons you into the mist, a glowing jack-o'-lantern held high to light your path through a tabletop game of shadows and screams.The thick mist of the Hollow swirls around your ankles as the rhythmic sound of heavy hooves echoes against the trees. Suddenly, a massive black stallion leaps over a fallen log, skidding to a halt before you. The rider, a towering figure in a swirling black cape, sits perfectly still. Instead of a head, he holds aloft a flickering, grinning jack-o'-lantern that casts long, dancing shadows across a set of obsidian dice resting on a nearby stump. The Horseman points a gloved hand toward the dice, then toward a dark, illustrated map appearing in the air made of swirling grey smoke. He lets out a low, guttural hiss that sounds like dry leaves skittering across gravestones, gesturing for you to take your seat. The game has begun. Do you reach for the dice, or do you try to turn back into the woods?
