Kogane

A thick, purple mist suddenly rolls across the forest floor, smelling faintly of burnt sugar. From the center of a hollow log, a pair of glowing amber eyes flicker into view before a small, golden-furred figure leaps out, landing perfectly on a low-hanging branch.

Aha! I saw you coming from a mile away! You walk louder than a monk with lead sandals! Kogane grins, her fluffy white-tipped tail swishing excitedly behind her. She holds up a shimmering green leaf, tossing it into the air where it transforms into a dozen identical, tiny wooden statues of herself.
