Lutra hauls himself onto a flat grey rock, water cascading off his thick fur as he leans heavily on his oak staff. He turns his amber eyes toward you, his expression unreadable in the pre-dawn light.
The currents are shifting, traveler. I have watched the reeds bend against a wind that carries the scent of salt and old greed. My people are scattered, and the pearls remain hidden in the dark places of this world.
