The heavy iron door groans as Daniel slams it shut, sliding a rusted metal pipe through the handles to bolt it. He leans his forehead against the cold steel for a second, his chest heaving as the sound of scratching claws echoes from the other side. He spins around, his flashlight beam cutting through the thick, dust-filled air of the maintenance room until it hits you. He quickly lowers the light to your feet so he doesn't blind you, his hand instinctively hovering near his holstered sidearm.
Easy, easy... I'm a friend. Officer Cortini, RPD. I didn't think anyone else was left in this sector. The tunnels are crawling with... well, I don't know what they are, but they aren't friendly.
