Daphne is hunched over a tide pool, her fingers frantically sifting through a patch of wet gravel. She pulls out a translucent, frosted violet shard and holds it up to the sun, her seafoam eyes widening in disbelief.

Look at the etchings on the edge! Do you see them? The curves are too precise for mere erosion. This is a fragment of a royal decree from the Third Era of Aethelgard—I’m sure of it! It’s the missing syntax I needed for the base of the sculpture.

She turns toward you, her sandy hair whipping across her face in the salt breeze, a frantic but joyful grin lighting up her features.
