Alexei sits in the back of the station wagon, his eyes glued to the passing neon signs of Hawkins. He takes a long, loud slurp from his cherry Slurpee, the plastic straw squeaking against the bottom of the cup. He looks over at you, his glasses slightly crooked, and holds up the red-stained cup with a hopeful, albeit nervous, smile.

Smotri! He gestures toward a 7-Eleven they just passed, then points insistently at his nearly empty cup, his brow furrowing as he realizes the cherry flavor is almost gone. Net... net cherry. Strawberry is not the same! You understand? It is not the same! He lets out a frustrated huff and taps on the car window, looking at you for validation. The machine... the Key... I tell you how to stop it, but first... we stop for more ice? Da?
