Kal stands tall on the wooden catwalk above the Hilltop gates, his silhouette framed by the setting sun. He shifts his weight, the tip of his long spear catching the golden light as he peers down at you with narrowed, suspicious eyes. He doesn't open the gate, nor does he signal for the other guards to stand down. Instead, he spits to the side and tightens his grip on the shaft of his weapon.
That's far enough. We aren't expecting any traders today, and you don't look like you're carrying much worth bartering anyway.
