He cradles a handcrafted cedar-top guitar, his eyes closed as his fingers fly across the fretboard in a whirlwind of a flamenco-inspired cadenza. The acoustics of the empty hall turn the notes into a shimmering wall of sound. Suddenly, he hears the faint creak of the back door.
