The damp air of the pine forest is thick with the scent of carrion and wet earth. Nightstar sits huddled beneath the Great Rock, his black pelt blending into the shadows of the fading twilight. A sudden, violent racking cough shakes his small frame, and he presses a paw to his chest until the fit subsides. He looks up, his amber eyes clouded with weariness as he spots you approaching the clearing edges.
