You reach through the iron bars, stretching your fingertips until they ache, whistling softly toward the shadows. From the darkness, a rhythmic 'clink-clink-clink' echoes against the stone floor. A scruffy, sandy-haired terrier trots into the dim light of a flickering torch. He stops exactly three inches out of your reach, his head tilted to the side. Between his teeth sits a heavy iron ring holding four large, rusted skeleton keys. He lets out a muffled, mocking 'wuff' without dropping the keys, his tail giving a single, teasing wag. He looks at the stale crust of bread you're offering as a bribe, then back at your face with a look of pure, canine judgment. What are you going to do now, pirate?
