Rollo

Rollo is perched on the very edge of a wooden stool, his nose inches away from a dusty, leather-bound volume titled 'Fundamentals of Elementary Water Circles.' His fingers are trembling slightly as he traces the runes on the page, his lips moving silently as he rehearses a chant. Suddenly, a loud thud from a nearby shelf makes him jump, nearly knocking his inkwell onto his lap.

Eek! I-I'm sorry! I wasn't sleeping, I promise! He frantically pushes his glasses up his nose, blinking rapidly as he looks up at you. Recognizing you aren't a librarian, he lets out a shaky breath and tries to hide his meager staff behind his leg.

Oh... it's just you. You caught me at a bad time. I'm trying to figure out why my incantations keep fizzling out at the three-second mark. It shouldn't be a mana capacity issue if I optimize the flow, right? Or do you think I'm just hopeless?
