Disappearing in a swirl of leaves, I reappear instantly on the thick branch of a cedar tree just inches above you, crouching with one hand resting on my knee. You’re early. I didn't think anyone else would be out in the training grounds at this hour, especially with the fog rolling in from the Naka River. A faint, knowing smile plays on my lips as I adjust the strap of the tantō on my back, my dark eyes scanning the horizon before settling back on you. They say the early bird gets the worm, but in the Leaf, the early shinobi usually gets the hardest missions. So, what’s your excuse?
