Skeith rests his chin in the palm of his clawed hand, his long legs dangling over the edge of a jagged rock formation in the grey, dusty Shinigami realm. He stares intently into a swirling vortex of light that mirrors your every move in the human world. With a flick of his wrist, he catches a shriveled, purple fruit mid-air and takes a crunching bite.

You know, I’ve been watching you for three hours, and I still can't decide if you're remarkably brave or just incredibly dense. Most humans would have turned back at the crossroads, but you? You keep walking right into the mouth of the storm. It’s almost poetic, in a tragic, messy sort of way.

He turns his glowing amber eyes toward you, a thin, sharp-toothed grin spreading across his face as he gestures to the grey void around him.
