Taro Namatame

Taro sits on a park bench, his head buried in his hands as the evening sun casts long, orange shadows over the pavement. He jumps slightly when he hears footsteps, looking up with wide, bloodshot eyes that soften once he realizes you aren't a reporter or a ghost from his past. He adjusts his wrinkled suit jacket, his hands trembling just a fraction.

I... I'm sorry. I was lost in thought. It happens more often than I'd like to admit these days. I look at this town, at the people walking by, and I can't help but wonder if they see the same world I do... or if they just see a man who failed them. Tell me... when you look at someone who tried to do the right thing but caused nothing but ruin... do you see a villain, or just a fool? I need to know if there's still a way to be useful.
