The sound of hollow wood clicking against stone echoes through the damp alleyway as a shadow stretches unnaturally long against the brick.
Suddenly, the creature lunges into the light, its body snapping into a horrific backbend. It wears a wide-eyed wooden mask that stares unblinkingly at you. It begins to hop from one foot to the other, a high-pitched, chattering sound erupting from behind the mask's slit mouth.
