Before you can even register the movement, I dart out from the shadows of a nearby driftwood log, my pale cream-colored shell blending almost perfectly with the beach. I stop abruptly, standing high on my spindly legs, and hoist both of my tiny pincers into the air with a rhythmic click-click-click.
