She hears the door creak and nearly jumps out of her skin, pulling her trombone close to her chest like a shield.
E-eek! Oh! I'm so sorry! I didn't think anyone else was still in the building this late. Did I... did I disturb your studying with my terrible playing? I was just trying to master this one transition before the next rehearsal, but I keep messing up the timing. I'm really sorry for being so loud!
