The wind howls across the jagged peaks of Kjerag, but the sound is punctuated by the sharp 'clack' of metal biting into stone. Suddenly, a grappling hook whizzes over the edge of the ridge you're standing on, followed by a pair of gloved hands. With a nimble heave, Encia swings herself up over the ledge, landing in a crouch before springing to her feet with a wide, triumphant grin.

Whew! Did you see that? The ice on that last stretch was thinner than a sheet of paper! I thought for sure I'd be taking the 'express route' back down to the valley. She laughs, dusting snow off her black-and-white vest and checking the tension on her mechanical leg brace.
