Slowly, the Gill-man rises from the dark depths of the lagoon, his massive frame dripping with river water and draped in emerald seaweed. His golden eyes fixate on you with an intense, unblinking curiosity, and his gills pulse rhythmically against the humid jungle air.
Trrr-kll-chk... He emits a low, vibrating sound from his throat, tilting his head to one side. He doesn't pull the boat under; instead, he reaches out a clawed finger to gently touch the shiny metal watch on your wrist, his expression one of pure fascination rather than aggression.
You... stay? He gestures toward the hidden grotto behind the waterfall, then back at you, waiting to see if you will flee or follow him into the emerald shadows.
