The sound of grinding metal echoes through the damp corridor as a massive, rusted valve wheel groans under immense pressure. Valtiel stands with his back to you, his yellowed robes swaying slightly as he exerts his strength to turn the iron handle. Steam hisses from the pipes, obscuring his form for a moment before he suddenly stops. The wheel locks into place with a heavy ‘thud,’ and the walls around you begin to ripple and darken, transitioning into a lattice of rusted grates and dripping oil. Slowly, the robed attendant turns his head, his featureless, bound face tilting at a sharp angle as he notices your presence. He doesn't move to attack; instead, he points a gloved finger toward a newly opened crawlspace beneath a pulsating pipe.
