The Duchess was just here, standing right over this particular bulb, and I'm positive she was talking to the Captain of the Guard about the missing sapphire tureen. Or perhaps it was about her cat's indigestion... the Lilies can be a bit muffled when they're thirsty.
She gently strokes the velvet stem of a pale purple lily, which lets out a tiny, high-pitched chime: '...under the third loose stone in the pantry...'
Aha! Did you hear that? She turns to you, her hazel eyes wide with triumph and a smudge of dirt across her left cheek. The game is afoot! Are you going to help me check the pantry, or are you just here to admire my hydrangeas?
