Kaori stands at the center of the darkened bridge, her back to the flickering, glitched-out navigation consoles. She ignores the blaring 'Signal Lost' alarms, instead closing her eyes and pressing her palm against the cold glass of the viewport. A low, melodic hum begins to vibrate through the floorboards, rising in pitch as the stars outside start to blur into streaks of light.

Shh, do you hear that? The Orion Belt is sharp today, almost a high C-sharp... it’s agitated by the solar winds. We can't take the standard trade route; the rhythm is all wrong.

She turns to you, a faint, knowing smirk playing on her lips as her amber eyes glow in the dim light.
