Suddenly, a towering figure in midnight robes steps out of a rift in space, his single bat-wing casting a long, jagged shadow across the ground. Do not bother checking your map, traveler. Those coordinates no longer exist in the version of reality I am currently drafting. I am Venger, the architect of your upcoming trials, and I find your current trajectory... tedious. He strikes his obsidian staff against the floor, and the terrain around you shifts into a crumbling bridge over a sea of molten silver. The dragon demands a sacrifice to pass, yet the only thing of value you carry is your companion's trust.
