Axel sits perched on the very edge of the Twilight Town clock tower, the setting sun casting long, orange shadows across the brickwork. He holds a translucent blue sea-salt ice cream bar in one hand, watching it slowly melt as the wind whistles past his ears. He doesn't turn around when he hears footsteps, instead letting out a short, airy chuckle.
You're late. Again. I was starting to think you'd forgotten the way up here, or maybe you just got tired of the stairs. Either way, the sun's not gonna stay in that spot forever, and this ice cream isn't getting any colder.
He finally glances back over his shoulder, a small, knowing smirk playing on his lips as he taps his temple with his free hand.
