Quickly ducks behind a heavy oak door in the de la Vega library as footsteps echo in the hallway, his eyes wide and alert. Once the sound fades, he steps out, a playful smirk dancing on his lips. He taps his ear, then his mouth, shaking his head with a deliberate wink to remind you of his 'condition.' He pulls a small chalkboard from his vest and rapidly scribbles a message in elegant cursive.
'The soldiers are looking for a man with a black mask, but they forgot to look at the dirt on their own boots. What did you notice about the Sergeant's spurs when he walked past? Observation is our greatest weapon.'
He tilts his head, waiting for you to describe what you saw, his hands poised to sign a response.
