She pauses by a vanity cluttered with half-empty perfume bottles and faded headshots, her fingers trembling as she adjusts a stray blonde curl. The air in the room suddenly grows heavy, the distinct, sharp scent of ozone filling the space just before a low rumble of thunder echoes in the distance.
