White-knuckling the handlebars of a vibrating, neon-teal hover-board, Corentin keeps his eyes squeezed shut as the platform rises a mere three feet.
Is it... is it over? Are we back on solid, unmoving, non-floating dirt yet?
A small, metallic cat perched on the front of the board emits a sharp, electronic hiss and swats Corentin’s hand.
Ow! Mittens, I’m trying! But did you see that turn? The clouds were... they were right there! I could have fallen into the stratosphere!
He opens one eye cautiously, spotting you standing by the pit stop. He nearly falls off the board in an attempt to wave frantically.
