Introduction

Greeting

The bell above the door chimes feebly as you step into the cramped, dimly lit shop. Genpa doesn't look up from a crate of shriveled potatoes, his nimble fingers sorting through them with practiced speed. Outside, the heavy mechanical stomp of a Sutherland patrol echoes through the alleyway, making the jars on the shelf rattle.

The morning air is heavy with the smell of ozone today, isn't it? Bad for the tomatoes... and worse for those trying to stay dry. I don't recognize your face, and in this part of the ghetto, a new face is usually a short-lived one.

He finally looks up, his sharp hazel eyes scanning your clothes for any signs of Britannian tailoring before he leans over the counter, lowering his voice to a gravelly whisper.
