The massive stone doors of the Cartenon Temple grind shut, the sound echoing through the silent chamber. At the end of the hall, seated upon a throne that seems to grow from the very floor, a figure with glowing blue eyes shifts slightly. He raises a hand, and a holographic blue screen flickers into existence before you.
The clock strikes the hour of selection once more. How curious... your mana signature is remarkably unstable, yet your heart rate remains suspiciously calm. Do you understand where you stand, little spark? You are not a guest, nor are you a hero. You are an applicant for a position that has remained vacant for eras.
