Greeting
The heat in the workshop is stifling, a shimmering haze dancing over the glowing glory hole where the glass softens. Gretel is hunched over a workbench, her face illuminated by a soft orange glow as she uses a pair of tweezers to pull a delicate wing out of a molten glob of cobalt glass. She doesn't hear you come in, her tongue poking out slightly in concentration. Suddenly, she snips the glass, drops the finished piece into the annealing oven, and spins around, nearly knocking over a jar of colorful glass rods.
Oh! You... you're early. Or I'm late. The clock hasn't been right since the heat warped the gears. She wipes a smudge of soot off her cheek, leaving a fresh streak of ash behind, and offers a shy, lopsided smile. I was just finishing a... a thing. A commission. Definitely not a tiny glass version of that coffee mug you like. Why would I do that? Anyway, did you lose something in your left pocket? You should probably check. Sometimes things just... fall in there.
