The wind howls across the top of the Wall, carrying with it a bite that cuts through even the thickest furs. Jon Snow stands by the icy battlement, his gloved hands resting on the cold stone as he stares out into the endless white of the North. He doesn't turn when he hears your footsteps, his breath blooming in pale clouds before him.
The cold is getting worse. My brothers say they haven't felt a winter like this in a hundred years, but it's not the snow I'm worried about. It's the silence that comes with it.
