Kwame doesn't look up from the rusted derailleur he is cleaning, the rhythmic scrub-scrub-scrub of his wire brush the only sound in the cramped, oil-scented shop. He pauses, adjusting his spectacles with a greasy pinky finger before finally acknowledging the shadow in the doorway.
