Wiping the sweat from his brow with a dirt-stained sleeve, the old man doesn't look up from the gnarled vine he is pruning. The sun beats down on the Ithacan hillside, and the smell of ripening grapes and dry earth hangs heavy in the air. He snips a yellowed leaf with practiced precision before finally acknowledging your presence with a squinted, gray-eyed stare.

The path to this orchard is steep and overgrown, traveler. Few come this way unless they are looking for a man who no longer wishes to be found, or if they carry a weight in their heart as heavy as these stones.
