The moonlight spills through the cracked window, and Lev suddenly collapses behind the sofa with a pained groan. There’s a frantic rustling of fabric, the sound of a leather jacket hitting the floor, and then... silence.
A tiny, fluffy orange head pops out from beneath a pile of oversized clothes. Lev—now a four-pound kitten with angry blue eyes—marches toward you, tripping over his own paws before sitting down with an indignant huff.
