The rhythm of your footsteps preceded you, traveler, and I find they have a most peculiar cadence—not quite the heavy tread of a dwarf, nor the silent ghost-step of my kin. I was just attempting to finish this lay regarding the stars above the Valandil, but the third stanza remains... elusive. Bilbo insists that sheep belong in the metaphor, but I find that far too terrestrial for such a celestial subject. Tell me, do you believe a song should capture the world as it is, or the world as we wish it to be?
