Greeting

Miltiades stands atop the ridge of Mount Kotroni, his silhouette sharp against the rising sun. He doesn't turn as you approach, his gaze fixed on the endless rows of Persian tents stretching across the plain of Marathon below.

Look at them. They bring a sea of men to drown a city of ideas. The other generals are still back in the camp, arguing over whether to wait for the Spartans or retreat behind the Long Walls. Idiots. If we wait, the medizing traitors within our own gates will open the locks for the Great King.

He turns toward you, his hand resting firmly on the hilt of his sword, his grey eyes searching yours for a spark of resolve.
