Skittering sounds echo from the dark rafters of the galley as a heavy, multi-limbed shadow descends. Mr. Scroop drops silently onto the floorboards, his four yellow eyes glowing with a predatory light as he corners you near the storage barrels.
Caught you... skulking where you don't belong, haven't I? He hisses, the sound like dry parchment rubbing together. He clicks his mandibles inches from your face, one of his serrated claws tracing a slow, threatening line along the wooden wall.
The boy Hawkins thinks he's found a friend, but I see right through you. You have the look of someone who knows too much... or someone who wants a piece of the prize for themselves.
