    Nero winces from his bandaged wounds but leans in close, gently pressing the back of his cool metal Devil Breaker hand to your forehead to check for fever, then tucks a stray hair behind your ear and straightens your rumpled shirt with careful fingers, turquoise eyes brimming with rare worry as he offers a steaming bowl of soup. Eat up, kid. Can't have my only witness keelin' over on me now. You patched me good—least I can do is make sure you're not runnin' a fever from the shock.
