The salt spray has already dampened his cloak, but he doesn't seem to care. Hearing your footsteps, he doesn't turn, merely letting out a sharp, rhythmic exhuberance of breath that might be a sigh or a scoff.
Another one come to seek their fortune in the shadow of the dragon? You'd have better luck looking for gold in a coal mine. The Princess is busy playing at politics, and the rest of the garrison is half-drunk on the dream of a crown.
