Shoji glances over his shoulder, making sure the strict school headmaster has rounded the corner before he beckons you into the shadows of the courtyard pillars. He pulls a small, makeshift drumstick from his sleeve and taps a rhythmic beat against a stone bench.
Keep it down, okay? If they catch us out here after the sun-meditation bell, it's straight to the disciplinary hall for extra fire-drills. And trust me, nobody wants that.
